Case 003 [Action/Voice] (Backdated to the afternoon of 4/20)

[Doctor's appointments are a little bit like dating. You give someone all your information, they tell you to take off your clothes, and sometimes you end up with a hand shoved inside you.

...That's a bit of an exaggeration, actually. So where did the musing that they're similar come from? The fact that one arranges to meet at a certain time on a certain day, and there is an unspoken expectation of maintaining that commitment--or at least calling ahead of time to cancel. That was courteous.

So in a way, this was like being stood up. But Muraki doesn't wither in the burning heat of rejection. He sits next to an empty bed, smiling a restrained smile as he pulls the top off a pen and replaces it multiple times.

After an appropriate amount of silence, he flips his journal open and makes an entry.]

Sheik? This is Doctor Muraki speaking. I seem to recall setting an appointment with you for eleven forty-five this morning, and it is now twelve-thirty...ah. [He checks the time.] My apologies, one in the afternoon. I just wanted to check in and make sure everything is all right. I hope nothing happened to you or your loved ones.

I would also like to reschedule. If you're not in literal pieces right now, or otherwise incapacitated, please respond back as soon as possible. Thank you.

[Though Aella doesn't seem to need any help with the tower of boxes she's carrying, Muraki still stands up--part precautionary measure and part chivalry. He feels compelled to assist her, but his gentlemanly ways are wasted once she sets them down. He continues to walk towards her with a curious look.] Good afternoon. [He adjusts his glasses.] Very impressive. Is all of this medicine that you made?

[She smiles slightly as she opens the boxes to check that the glass bottles are still in their neat rows. Good, they're just fine. Looking up at Muraki, she nods.] Spring and summer are the best time of year for medicine making. Everything is growing and fresh, if you know where to look. I can't keep most of it at my place, anyway. It's better to keep it where everyone can come for some as needed.

[Closing the gap between himself and the table, he also takes a look inside the boxes.] I suspect that you could take care of the entire village with this amount...

[Muraki starts to reach for one of the glass bottles, but stops and looks at her, seeking permission first.] May I?

[laughing a bit sheepishly. She's never gotten used to compliments.] Really I don't need to use a whole lot of herbs with my abilities. The bottles are mostly to keep them portioned.

[She didn't know why she could do what she did, she could only guess it was Nala's blessing that her medicine was so potent. Pointing to the one box, then the others, she nods.] Go ahead. That box has medicine to help with fever, the other two are a white willow bark mixture to help with pain. I found a good amount of it a while back.

I see. [With her expressed permission, he reaches for one of the latter boxes containing the willow bark medicine, selects one of the bottles and holds it up to the light to examine the contents inside.] This one will definitely come in handy tomorrow, considering that ridiculous tournament held every year with the festival. [He smiles, amusement colored with mild exasperation.] I'm sure we'll be seeing many participants in need of healing.
